Mixing
RAK Epoxy Grout is of a heavy consistency and should be mechanically mixed.
Using a slow speed electric drill with a paddle attachment, pour the reactor (Part B) into the base tin (Part A) and mix for approximately 2 minutes or until a uniform consistency and color is obtained. Pour the mixed resin into a forced action mixer( such as MIXAL) and slowly add the filler (Part C) mixing until a lump free uniform consistency is achieved.
In most applications the full contents of each component pack should be mixed together. Apply RAK Epoxy Grout to the spaces between tiles with proper plastic spatula ensuring the joints & edges are completely filled and compacted.
Following the grouting operation use a fibrous pad or wet soft cloth to clean o the excess material. This should take place within 15 minutes and care should be excercised not to use excess water to come into contact with the wet grout.Surplus material must be removed from the face of the tiles before it sets.
Application
Prior to application RAK Epoxy Grout should be stored under cover and protected from extremes of temperatures which may cause inconsistent workability and cure times for the mixed material.Ideally at least 24 hours before mixing,RAK Epoxy Grout should be maintained in approximately 20°C. During application in cold conditions, correct conditioning can help but application should be halted if the ambient temperature is like to fall below 10°C. Consideration should be given to the substrate or base slab as it is likely to be considerably colder than the surrounding temperature. When temperatures exceed 30°C during application working times may be reduced by as much as 50%.
Curing
Good curing is essential for resin based materials to ensure specified performance. A minimum tempreture of 10°C should be maintained during the curing period by the use of additional heating is nesseccary. Installations using RAK Epoxy grout systems can be opened to foot trac after approximately 24 hours at 25°C. Complete cure is achieved after 72 hours at 25°C.
Health & Safety
As with all chemical products, caution should always be exercised. Protective clothing, such as gloves and goggles, should be worn (see packaging for specific instructions). Treat any splashes to the skin or eyes with fresh water immediately. Should any of the product be accidentally swallowed, do not induce vomiting but call for medical assistance immediately. Ensure the container is available for the medical attendant. to examine any relevant instructions and contents details. Reseal all containers after use and ensure product is stored as instructed on the safety section of the labelling.
