Uses
- Excellent surface protection for on-site, precast concrete and masonry structures
- Water repellent for stonework
Features
- Provides a protective treatment for concrete surfaces
- Forms a hydrophobic lining to capillaries
- Water repellent
- Colourless
Coverage
Average 6-10 m2/litre per coat, depending on the porosity of the surface and method of application.
Application
All the surface to he coated should be fully cured, duly and free from demolding oil, or curing membranes. The surface should be perfectly dry before coating with RAK Siloxane. RAK Siloxane is applied with either a low-pressure spray or brush. Stir the material well before use. Do not dilute with water or solvents. On vertical surfaces, RAK Siloxane should be flooded on, starting at the bottom, working steadily upwards. When used as protective impregnation, apply two coats as a minimum. Apply a second coat immediately after applying the first, ensuring the first coat does not dry, i.e. wet on wet.
Special Notes
- RAK Siloxane reacts with moisture, therefore keep the container sealed when not in use
- Surface must be perfectly dry
- Ensure, adequate ventilation
- High winds will interfere with the application
- Protective barriers may be required
- RAK Siloxane may darken some polymer modified substrates & white cement. A trial area is recommended
Shelf Life
Up to 12 months when stored in sealed containers out of direct sunlight and high temperatures.
Caution
RAK Siloxane is solvent based and therefore highly flammable.
- Apply in a well ventilated areas
- Store away from sunlight
- Apply away from naked flames
