Area of Use
For filling or repairing fine cracks and surface defects in concrete, block work and brickwork, in order to produce a surface of the highest quality for final decoration.
Preparation of Surface
Remove all oil, grease, dirt, foreign substance and loose particles. Absorbent, porous surfaces should be moistened with water prior to the application of RAKAM mix Putty. On extremely absorbent, porous surfaces or under extreme climatic conditions, the standard code of practice for use of cementations products should be followed. Priming and /or addition of one of the concentrated RAKAM bond bonding agents to the mixing water, ratio 1:15 bonding agent: water is recommended.
Mixing Instructions
Mix the RAKAM mix Putty with the recommended water with a high speed mixer or with a hand agitator for 3 – 5 minutes. In normal conditions, let RAKAM mix Putty set for 5 minutes, re-stir and use.
Application and Cleaning of Tools
RAKAM mix Putty is applied by trowel and levelled with a steel float. Smooth finishing is achieved with a wooden or foam float when RAKAM mix Putty has set, moistening the float during use and brushing off loose particles with a soft brush afterwards. RAKAM mix Putty can also be sanded. Clean tools and equipment with water after use.
Packaging and Storage
RAKAM mix putty is supplied in 25kg paper bags. Store containers in a clean dry area protected from direct sunlight and extreme heat and cold. Unopened containers can be stored for 6 months. Use oldest material first.
