Uses

RAK Anchor Fix is used for High strength corrosion resistant anchoring of bolts and bars. from 12-25mm diameter into concrete ,rocks, masonry or brickwork where high speed of installation and early application of load is required. Permanent installation of reinforcement starter bars, tie-back anchors, foundation bolts reinforcement dowelling, barriers and safety fences, railway tracks, ground anchors for towers, cranes, dock sills etc.

Surface Preparation

Ensure the concrete foundation surface is dimensionally stable and free of dirt, dust, oil, laitance, paint, curing compounds etc. Bolt holes and fixing pockets should be blown clean of any dirt or debris. If possible a roughened surface is preferable to smooth surfaces. Metal surfaces must be free from rust, loose scaling and paint. Shuttering should be covered with polyethylene to ensure a clean release.

Mixing

It is essential that the mixing instructions are carefully followed to ensure the correct characteristics of the product are achieved. Failure to do so can result in lower. Performance or even possible failure of the product. Empty the resin into a suitable empty container with sucient volume to accommodate the total yield of the material.

Add the powder component to the resin component and mix using a slow speed drill and paddle or by hand for 2-3 minutes until a uniform colour & consistency is achieved. When a smooth, even consistency is achieved, the grout is ready for use. It must be placed well within the gel time of the grout.

ALWAYS ADD THE POWDER TO THE RESIN. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES PART MIX MATERIALS.

Storage & Shelf Life

RAK Anchor fix as supplied shall be stored in a cool, dry place away from sunlight, moisture, high humidity. RAK Anchor fix have a shelf life of 6 Months max at 20 C if kept in a dry store in the original, unopened packs. Damaged packaging, high humidity or extreme temperatures may reduce the shelf life

Placing

Ensure that sucient mixed material is available to complete the work and achieve a continuous filling operation. Calculated volume of mixed grout should be poured steadily into the prepared holes. The anchor bar should then be pressed into the hole to the required depth. Slight agitation of the bar will greatly assist in achieving a complete bond. The bar should be left undisturbed in the required position until the grout has hardened fully.

Limitations

At permanent operating temperatures above 40C the creep of RAK Anchor fix may become significant. RAK Anchor fix should not be used where structural load bearing performance has to be maintained in anchors subjected to fire conditions. For application below 5C, seek advice from Manufacturer.

Health & Safety

Always use appropriate PPE including gloves, goggles and a barrier cream to avoid contact with skin and eyes. Should contact with skin or eyes occur, wash immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice. If swallowed seek medical attention immediately. Do not induce vomiting. Avoid inhalation and ensure adequate ventilation or suitable respiratory equipment if working in confined spaces. Do not expose products to fire or naked flames under any circumstances. Always refer to the product Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for full health & safety and handling recommendations.
